WASSCE: Nigerian govt declares date for outset of WAEC exam

The West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) will begin on August 17, 2020, the federal government has announced.

The government also announced exit classes in secondary schools will continue August 4.

The diplomat  of the Federal Ministry of Education, Ben Gooong, said this  on Monday.

According to Mr Gooong, SS3 students will have two weeks within which to ready for the West African Examinations (WAEC)

However, the government had nullifiedits earlier announcement on the resumption of schools. It also said no Nigerian school will participate in the WASSCE earlier scheduled for August 5 to September 5.

The outcomes were to curb the spread of COVID-19 among students.
