UI could be termed as the most competitive university in Nigeria especially for courses like Medicine and surgery. UI is the first or premier university in Nigeria founded in 1948 by the British government. UI stands for the University of Ibadan. It is located in Ibadan, Oyo state. It is a federal university with over 18000 applicants per year.
Meanwhile, this university has about 4000 space for undergraduates making it hard to secure admission. In 1948, UI was a college of the University of London in a special relationship scheme. It later became independent and full-fledged. UI has sixteen(16) faculties and twelve(12) halls of residence. It is a very comprehensive citadel of learning. It’s motto is _Recte Sapene Fons_ in latin meaning _To think straight is the fount of knowledge_ in english.
The present vice chancellor is Professor Abel Idowu Olayinka.
– Candidates must have chosen the university as a first-choice institution.
– Candidates must have a minimum of 200 in the just concluded JAMB examination.
– Candidates must have at least five(5) olevel credit passes in one sitting or six olevel passes in two sittings; core subjects inclusively .
– Candidates must be sixteen years old or above.
-Candidates must have chosen the University of the first choice Institution.
– Candidates should submit their bio-data like the olevel / NECO / SSCE / GCE A’L / NCE / ND / HND result on the portal.
*_Structure of UI post utme_*
The structure of UI post utme is quite easy. Olevel result is not used to boost your aggregate but you must have at least five olevel credits. The main reason for this was because it’s was noticed overtime that student could not defend their results and could not meet up with the standards of the school. The total aggregate of the University is calculated in a 50:50 ratio i.e your utme score carries 50% of your admission and so does your post utme.
The total post utme questions are 100 in number. twenty-five 25) questions each depending on your JAMB combination. For example, A medical student would write English, physics, chemistry and biology in the amb. He or she would answer twenty-five(25) questions each in English, physics, chemistry, and biology. For an engineering student, he or she would answer questions on mathematics, physics, chemistry, and English and twenty-five (25) would be set on each of them. The total mark you score in your post utme would be divided by two to make it over fifty(50). Your JAMB score would also be divided by eight(8) to make it over fifty(50). The two would be added finally to give your aggregate.
For example, Tayo scores 275 in jamb and 60 in post utme.
His jamb score = 275/8 =34.375
His post utme = 60/2 = 30
His total aggregate = 30 +34.375 = 64.375.
The exam is CBT-based and lasts for 1 hour and 30 mins so you have to be very fast.
This form of aggregate calculation could be favorable or unfavorable depending on how you prepare for the post utme.

1. Evaluations and simplifications of expressions: students should know how to simplify expressions to their lowest forms with the aid of BODMAS.
Expressions like (2^0 + 4^ -1/2)^2, (1.28*10^4), (6.4 *10^2), etc are likely to be asked.

3. Solving of quadratic equations and expressions using the quadratic formula, completing the square method, graphical method, and matrix method.
4. Arithmetic progressions and Geometric progressions involving simultaneous equations.
5. Differentiations and integrations
Laws guiding differentiations and integrations, differentiations of cosines, sines, tan, sec and cosec of angles
6. Mensuration of solid shapes:
The determination of areas, volumes, surface areas, curved surface areas of cones, cubes, cuboids, pyramids, cubes, cuboid, frustum, etc

Laws guiding cycle geometry, tangents to a circle, cyclic quadrilateral, etc
